Sustainability | Chesterfield Waterside
Because the environment matters...
We know that business today has many driving forces and increasingly important amongst these are environment issues. We know this goes beyond the environs, there are more direct commercial considerations. Creating a sustainable building means the added value of benefitting from economical heating and power.
Our approach to Waterside has been to consider these issues from day one, from design through to delivery. We aspire to achieve BREEAM good ratings for the entire development.
We are also incorporating a range of sustainable technologies on site, including combined heat and power, solar gain, ground source heat pumps, green roofs, water turbines and micro hydro.
Already, sustainable technologies are being brought to life in Waterside, with the first 19 homes in The Park neighbourhood completed and delivered by Chesterfield Waterside for Great Places Housing Group.
The Chesterfield canal, widely recognised as one of the most beautiful and varied waterways in England, is being brought back to life right in the heart of the development. A navigable waterway is being restored through the site, providing a natural habitat for wildlife, flora and fauna that can be enjoyed by residents, workers and visitors.
